Education has been at the center of my life's work for thirty years. My journey in education began with a decade as an elementary school teacher. Seeking a more flexible situation, I stepped into private tutoring and small group enrichment classes. I have tutored children as young as five, going through high school, covering all subjects. My special passion is math! After many years of tutoring I also started a new adventure of motherhood and eventually that led to homeschooling my son, kindergarten through completing high school. Now that he is graduated and off to college, I am excited to increase my private tutoring and small group classes again!
My many years in education has afforded me the opportunity to work with all ages, and all subjects, in every setting imaginable. Spending a decade working in public schools equipped me with a strong knowledge of standards, and classroom management, and gave me the experience of working with every kind of learner. My years as a private tutor expanded my knowledge of the many kinds of curriculum and modalities for learning, and also showed me first hand where gaps typically form between the classroom and home. Finally, my many years homeschooling broadened my knowledge and perspective even more, especially convincing me of the effectiveness of individualized learning.
Whatever your child's level, situation or goals, I am confident I have the experiences to meet their needs.
